EVALUATION

Some things went well but there was some difficulties with other things during the task.  



THINGS THAT WENT WELL:


1. We found a perfect location which emphasised the scene of the affair especially because of the red pillows and back board on the bed. The bedroom also is the right size and had perfect lighting which made it easier for us to film and get the right angles.

2. We knew how to edit, so when we used IMOVIE we did it effectively and produced a result we were pleased with.

3. Our filming went well and seemed to do it pretty effectively, apart from the occasionally reshooting of a scene because of laughter as the actors were not professional and had been put together in a bed after only just meeting each other!

4. We had a good time filming it.

5. Our finished project successfully suits what we think our target audience would expect.


THINGS THAT DID NOT GO ASWELL:


1. Our original actor that we first chose to play the role of the husband decided to back out when he found out what he had to do and that it would be going online. Because we had the filming equipment set up ready in location and the mistress and wife ready to be filmed we decided to call up another friend to see if he would agree to play the husband role. We explained what he would have to do and that it would be going online so that he wouldn't back out when he arrived and leave us in the same situation. Luckily he agreed and turned out to be a good actor, RELIEF! 

2. Our finally shot of the wife coming through the door didn't come out as we planned for it to. This was because we had to change the camera angle to fit the wife walking through the door. When we came to edit it we realised that the shot from before didn't match with it and the actress who played the wife had to go home so we couldn't re film so we decided to rotate the clip and just make do with it. The shot works but it isn't in our eyes 'perfect'. 

PRELIMINARY TASK PLANNING

 

Before we started to film we knew that we had to have everything planned out for our shoot and what we wanted to do. We were told that there were certain types shots we had to capture for the preliminary task and after brainstorming we decided that the storyline should be of an affair with the wife walking in on them. We picked this storyline also because it is a contrasting and relatable topic that would helpful draw in the viewer and question what happens next. For our Preliminary task Millie and I decided to do a scene of an affair which will end with the wife walking in. In this scene we will capture an over the shoulder shot of the mistress and then an over the shoulder shot of the husband which will be followed by a match on action shot of the two in bed together. We will end the scene with a match on action shot of the wife behind the door opening the door handle and then entering the room capturing her facial expression as she sees her husband in bed naked with another woman.

LOCATION

For the location we have chosen to film the scene in a bedroom at my house. We chose a bedroom that is dark with all the curtains closed but has a light over the bed which creates a light in our eyes helps set the seductive scene. We also placed red pillows on the bed as red as usually known as a seductive colour associated with danger.

CLOTHING AND MAKE UP



MISTRESS

For the mistress we have decided to do her make up very overdone. So we will do a few layers of foundation which will be topped by bronzer. We will put bright red lipstick on her lips and a dark eyeshadow accompanied by thick top black eyeliner and mascara. This will hopefully result her to look very done up and seductive. For clothing because we have chosen to film her in a bed we will get her to wear a top as she is an actress so for her own comfort but have it off her shoulders and have the duvet high enough so the viewer thinks she isn't wearing anything.

HUSBAND

For the husband we have decided we will smudge the same lipstick used for the mistress around his lips which will push forward to the viewers that they have just been kissing. For the husbands clothing we will get him to be topless in bed to show that they have just been having sex.

WIFE

For the wife we have decided to have her with no make up to show the big contrast between her and the mistress. For her clothing we will have her in all white to show her purity and her hair in a simple messy bun to show how she's a simple person.

When we were picking the people to be our actor and actress's we had criteria for each person:

For the wife we wanted someone who is naturally pretty and simply looking, with a natural hair colour, not a girl with bleach blonde hair.

For the husband we wanted to pick someone who is athletic, dark haired and older to make him look more mysterious and also have a cheeky personality to make him look like a stereo typical cheating husband.

For the mistress we wanted to pick someone who had strong facial features for example, big lips and striking long hair for example dark hair or bleach blonde hair. Which will contrast with the wife's natural pure look.


EDITING

I used iMovie to edit the clip and it was my first time using it but my partner Millie had past experience using iMovie so she taught me how to use it, it all went quite smoothly and easy as we had filmed all the different angles correctly.  The only slight difficulty was editing the match on action shot which was the last frame which was of the wife coming through the door as the camera was horizontal while the rest of the filming had been shot landscape, but it worked out okay after rotating the shot and cropping it.

FINAL RESULT

We were both quite pleased with the final result and captured all the shots we needed to.
