GENRES

When looking at different genres we watched different films to give us a proper idea of what the genres contained as each genres seems to have a big spectrum of different films. It was clear that the drama and horror genres wide spread of films that they contained appealed to us.

Comedy seemed very difficult to do because we can't have professional actors in our final piece and therefore the acting quality will not be that strong so theres a big chance it could go awfully wrong.

When science fiction was presented to us in class we decided straight away that it was not the genre for us. One problem would be the budget, as science fiction is very expensive to film. Also science fiction isn't the type of films that Millie and I enjoy and we both believe you should enjoy the genres to be able to produce a film in that genre.

We decided against romance because again the acting problem has reoccured. When we did our preliminary task we had problems with the actors laughing and not being able to concentrate making it hard to get the task done effectively and produce the best result possible.

There was no reasons against social realism, we just didn't chose that genre because we decided that the drama and horror genres combined works best.

Therefore as my mind map shows we decided finally that after working through the genres, the horror and drama genres entwined is what we will be aiming to produce for our final piece.
