FILM PRODUCTION LOGO IDEAS AND INSPIRATION
Below I have presented film production logos that are well known in the film industry around the world. I like how most of them seem to represent being bold and powerful. Whether this is used through a picture of a lion or having a high mount and having the title clearly at the top. I found when I analysed them, that in my eyes they are all too simple. My partner and I have chosen to do a topic that is very emotionally difficult and is a topic that needs to be approached very carefully. Also are genre is drama which is very self explanatory, its dramatic, so a simple logo doesn't welcome a viewer into the film. Through a logo you are welcoming a viewer into the type of film the viewer is going to watch, you are showing what type of production company you are, and if your film is being shown just on an advert to another film, you want to make it clear what you are going to portray in that film and other films you would produce. I think these logos are good and have worked for there producers. My partner and I also want to show the viewer we are independent producers and our ideas are individual. Our aim is for our film to be different from everyone else's and I believe you can achieve this by your logo also. Our type of film wont be suitable for a young child so our logo is going to show that our production is going to be bold, emotionally grabbing and based around a real life situation that sadly lots of people live through in there day to day life's. If we were to produce any other films, they would likely be around real life situations, so we are making sure our logo represents our aims and what we want to produce.
So I went onto the internet and researched domestic abuse photographs and I find a photo of the painting below. It stuck out to me straight away, its powerful, bold and reached me emotionally straight away and that's my partners and my aim for our production. This painting has been done so cleverly. It has inspired us to do something similar. To myself this looks like a young girl, and we would aim to do a similar affect but more likely with a face of a woman. Another idea is use a different object, whether that's an animal or a plant or even just a simple everyday object. Then using the same effect of splattered paint forming the feature we choose to use. We haven't decided yet what feature we will use as we want to make sure it represents the dark and sad reality of some peoples life but making sure it doesn't just represent this one production we are going to produce.
After I found this painting for the logo, I went on to find a format of writing for our actual film production title. I explored domestic abuse pictures further and found the picture below. I like how the writing has a shattered effect as it represents so clearly how ones life can fall to pieces. Its very bold and effective and really think this effect is powerful.
I really do believe the two combined would represent our 'production company' extremely well and produces the result I wanted to achieve.
